Stocksbridge Dancer opens Popular Dancewear Shop

In the midst of many high street shops closing down, local South Yorkshire based business woman bucks the retail trend by re-opening her popular dancewear shop in a new purposely designed shop in Mapplewell, Nr Barnsley.

Ann Palmer owner of Dazzlem invited Miss Nicola Priestley from Stocksbridge, winner of the EFDPA 2008 Performer of the Year, to officially open the new look shop over the weekend.

Amongst well wishers - who turned up to see 17 year old dancer Nicola cut the ribbon at the opening ceremony - were Nicola's Mum Diane, and Gran Madge Todner, as well as Barry Johnson and Lorraine Lawson of Mantonian Dancewear, and Moonlights Majorette troupe Event Organiser Steve Hudson and Child Protection Officer Debbie Arkell.

The talented young dancer also received a brand new pair of pointe shoes from Mantonian Dancewear Wholesaler Barry Johnson.

On receiving the shoes Nicola commented

"My day just cannot get any better, I was so proud to be asked to open Ann's shop today. I have had a lovely day here and wish her every success with her fundraising and the business".

Recycle your Dancewear

The opening also saw the launch of the Dazzlem New-2-U range of recycled dancewear. Customers can now donate their unwanted dancewear, fancy dress, accessories and props to the shop. All items are lovingly restored or repaired for hire or re sale under the New-2-U range. Profits are donated to the All 4 Dance and Drama Scholarship and Encouragement Bursary Awards Programme which distributes bursaries to talented youngsters around the region.
