Background

IDTA Registered Dance teacher Wendy, has been teaching since 1983, and has been a Fully Qualified IDTA examiner since 1996. In May 2005 she moved from her premises within Ardsley Community Centre, Stairfoot, Barnsley and settled into a purpose built unit in Mapplewell.

Her dance school has prospered well since her move, and the dance class has now expanded into 3 dance studios, all with sprung floors, mirrors and barres.

Wendy runs the school with the help of friend and colleague Rachael Austin, 'Miss Rachael' is a qualified IDTA Associate and a former pupil of Wendy's.

Classes are taught in Ballet, Tap, Modern Jazz, Freestyle and Gymnastics, to Pupils from the age of 2.5 years to Adult.

Dance Festivals

Dance Festivals are organised via the dance school twice a year, where other local dance school pupils, compete alongside each other for medals and trophies in the dance styles of Ballet, Tap, Song and Dance, Greek, National, Character Modern etc. The Senior Modern and Senior Tap Championships are also held at the festivals .

Bi-annual Dance Show

Dancers in actionA full dance class show is organised, and produced by the school every 2 years, where families and friends of pupils, can see the progress their children have made. These are a great source of fun and enjoyment for the pupils involved, and proud parents can watch in amazement as the children show off their talents.
