Ruthin Debonaires Majorettes

I met up with Lisa from Ruthin Debonaires recently at the GBBTA Classic Championships over the last weekend where the troupe won the Juniors Presidents Cup 2008

Ruthin Debonaires also won the following:

Seniors

• 2nd place - Mascot
• 1st place - Leader
• 3rd place - Troupe

Juniors

• 3rd place - Mascot
• 1st place - Leader
• 3rd place - Troupe 

Seniors

• 3rd place - Leader

Clwydian Royals entered the Isle of Man World Carnival Dance Competitions held every year where they won at least five awards and travelled round during the summer months attending carnival comps week in week out winning various championships.

Hilda retired from training and handed the training over to Lisa and remained with the troupe up until last year when she retired fully at the grand age of 80.

As this was a new era Lisa felt the troupe could do with a change of name and came up with Ruthin Debonaires. The Debonaires joined Albert Ormes GBBTA Assocciation last year and entered the assocciations annual Great Britain Classic Championships 2007 and won Junior Troupe of the year and Most Entertaining Troupe of the year.

Lisa commented "We hope to carry on now as we have started, we enjoy every minute of it and we have danced in all sections military, dance twirl and poms. Our poms have only been going for around 12 months and have been placed in every comp"."We love doing themes, some of the themes we have done over the years are, a french theme dancing the can can, space, russian, and most recently joseph and grease.. all were winning routines"

The Ruthin Debonaires won awards again at the GBBTA 2008 Classic Championships last weekend at Ponds Forge in Sheffield.
