School Children's Song for Europe CompetitionVIP Travel Ambassadors the Liverbirds are now flying high with the launch of a Pan European School Children's 'Song for Europe' Competition. INDY Music Awards 2008 Nominations are being accepted for the INDY Music Awards 2008, the UK's unique, exciting and dynamic awards program for independent artists. Who Can Enter?Artists are eligible if they are unsigned or signed to an independent label or their own label. They are not eligible if they were signed to any of the major record labels or their subsidiaries in 2007. Artists must perform their own original material. How To Enter Any Independent Venue or Promoter of live music based in the UK. Any promoter or live music venue outside of the UK can nominate an artist for the best International Award . AKG Unsigned Heroes!The British and Irish unsigned band competition AKG Unsigned Heroes competition is set to return in 2008. In keeping with the competition’s aims of encouraging young musical talent, this year’s competition is presented in association with Strummerville , the music charity which develops and promotes new music in the memory of Clash co-founder Joe Strummer. The AKG Unsigned Heroes 2007 competition saw 2500 entrants in nearly 900 bands.
The AKG Unsigned Heroes web site will be open for CD and MP3 submissions to the 2008 competition from January 21st, 2008. Bands who enter must be - unsigned to any record label
- must contain at least three members (all over 18)
- and must be able to reproduce their submitted tracks, which must be original compositions, live on stage.
