Why create a dance information network?

The seeds of this idea began forming after I set up Dazzlem Dancewear and Fancy Dress as a home based business over 8years ago, and with help and advice from South Yorkshire Business Link, I decided to open a shop in my local village which I ran with the help of my mum Joan. Together we established a good clientele and provided a friendly and helpful service.

From these simple beginnings I have found that for several years the majority of my business was due to supplying information, in fact I became a sort of unofficial dance information telephone hotline. Time and time again people asked "Do you know of a website where I can find all this information out"?.

So to cut a long story short, whilst I was talking to my web designer about where he could have a good Tutu made for is daughter, he asked the same question - "Are there any websites where I can found out this information?" The conversation went off a tangent and the idea developed; that since there wasn't one website on the internet where all of this information could be readily found, and that between us we had all the skills and knowledge to develop this idea further, quickly adding the often overlapping and related areas of music and drama to mix, All 4 Dance and Drama was born!

Totally Independent

Early on in the development process we realised that to make this really work we needed to make it truly independent of both our businesses. We settled on having a comprehensive dance, music and drama information section, plus a networkable business resource directory which would form a core part of the portal where all dance, music and drama related businesses and individuals would be entitled to a FREE listing, the 'All for Dance and Drama' resource directory.

Dream turns to reality

From start to present day both Ian and I have worked round the clock on our 'baby' to develop, test and add, lots of new features and hope that the sites already mounting success will achieve it's goal. To trade and raise funds for the All 4 Dance and Drama Scholarship / Bursary Fund for talented yet often disadvantaged youngsters.
