Normanton Gala - Saturday 8th & 9th September PDF Print E-mail

Normanton Gala promises to be a spectacular event with a Carnival Parade of bright and colourful floats being led through the streets of Altofts and on into Normanton by the Yorkshire Volunteers Band followed by "Moonlight" Majorette and Cheerleader Troupe from Normanton who will be parading in their new uniforms with new hot from the USA Cheerleading pom poms. 12 Majorette Troupes have been invited to hold Dance Displays throughout Sunday's Gala event, the first session starting at 9am followed by another session at 2pm.  First to Dance will be Grimethorpe Millenium Majorettes.

The Carnival Parade will assemble outside the Poplar Inn in Altofts at 10.45am on Saturday morning and the floats will be judged during the parade through Altofts around 11.30am the parade will continue on to Normanton arriving at Haw Hill Park at around 12.45pm in time for the official Gala opening at 1pm.
